Webp not cropped and/or resized when in in gallery mode, they appear full size when viewing the page, which is incorrect.

I implemented webp resizing/cropping and regenerated thumbnails manually (including this one).
Unfortunately this does not work for animated webp as underlying library (GD) does not support it.
